Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—I'd like to recognise the dedicated volunteers of Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie who were recently honoured at their Annual General Meeting and awards presentation. Brenda Spencer, Paul Hanlon and Gail Fairall each received the National Medal in recognition of their long and diligent service to the community. Their commitment to keeping our waterways safe is something we can all be proud of. I also congratulate Elizabeth Brown and Terry Brown for five years of dedicated service. Their ongoing contribution reflects the strength and spirit of volunteerism that defines our local community. It was wonderful to see Kerri Hourigan awarded her Radio Operator rating, Bob Gilbert receive his Watch Officer rating and Wendy Searle achieve her Crew rating. These accomplishments reflect the time, effort and training that our Marine Rescue volunteers put in to serve the public with skill and care. Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie is made up of everyday people who give their time to help others. I thank each of them for their continued service and commitment. Our community is safer and stronger because of your efforts, and we are incredibly grateful for all that you do.
