Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—I congratulate Matildas star Emily van Egmond, a talented and extraordinary local footballer, on her incredible achievement in becoming Australia's most capped player. During the Asian Football Confederation Women's Asian Cup semifinal in Perth on 17 March 2026, Emily earned her 170th international cap, making history across both the men's and women's games. A proud junior of Dudley Redhead United Football Club and a former student of Warners Bay High School, Emily has represented Australia with distinction since making her debut as a teenager. Her career includes four World Cups, three Olympic Games and multiple Asian Cup campaigns, along with 32 goals in the green and gold. Now playing for Leicester City in England's Women's Super League, Emily continues to inspire young athletes across our region. That is a truly phenomenal achievement for a Charlestown local girl and a proud moment for our community. I congratulate Emily and wish her continued success.
